Galantamine hydrobromide is a plant alkaloid obtained from Lycoris Radiata, also named as nivaline.
It can inhibit the activity of acetylcholinesterase, but activate less in butylcholinesterase. Galantamine hydrobromide is one kind of tertiary amine, which can enter into brain cells and central nerve system. It is indicated for Alzheimer’s disease and senile dementia of Alzheimer’s type abroad.
